Thank you to everyone who joined us last Tuesday, January 7th, to discuss the next steps in developing the Parkland Community Mural. During the meeting, we split into three teams to generate ideas about Design, Community Engagement and Fundraising:
The Design team brainstormed imagery to represent the themes discussed at the Community Forum and represent Parkland’s story through the past, present and future. They also discussed logistical considerations, such as paint and equipment that will be needed.
The Community Engagement team brainstormed ways to reach out to individuals and groups in the community including High Schools, Faith Communities, Local Businesses, Neighbors and Civic Groups.
The Fundraising team brainstormed various grants that may be available. They also discussed potential event ideas and creating a mechanism to accept donations.
